View Courses and Timeline

The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program is designed for working professionals at all levels of government; those working in nonprofit, service, and educational organizations, and for-profit sector professionals who work with public agencies or who desire to pursue a career in the public sector. Three curriculum tracks are offered: Law Enforcement Leadership (BPA-LEL), Generalist (BPA), and Nonprofit Administration (BPA-NPA).

Objectives

The BPA program aims to develop the analytic and problem-solving skills required of administrators. Students in the program will analyze the political, social, and economic environments of a variety of public sector and non-profit organizations. They will learn how to evaluate data and acquire skills in oral and written communication, planning, budgeting, decision-making, and collaboration. In addition, students will develop an awareness of ethical issues and problems in public and nonprofit organizations, and how to use ethical reasoning to formulate decisions and bring about organizational change.
